Invisalign Treatment From Phoenix Dentist

May 20, 2023

Traditionally, patients who wished to correct imperfections in their smiles, such as crooked, twisted, or misaligned teeth, would have no choice but conventional braces. While braces are still an effective treatment in certain cases, patients today have more discreet or easier options when it comes to achieving a straighter, more symmetrical smile.

At Biltmore Dental Center in Phoenix, Arizona, we believe that our patients should have the ability to choose the treatments that work best for their lifestyles, budgets, and goals. That’s why we provide an extensive array of emergency, family, reconstructive, cosmetic, and surgical dentistry, including orthodontic treatments such as braces, Six Month Smiles, and Invisalign.

Six Month Smiles

When orthodontic treatment is desired for purely cosmetic reasons, Six Month Smiles is an ideal solution, straightening just the front, visible teeth in significantly less time than traditional wire and bracket braces. Because the braces blend with the shade of the teeth, patients do not feel self-conscious about their appearance while completing treatment.

Invisalign

The exciting technology behind Invisalign now allows patients to align and straighten their teeth using virtually undetectable, removable, clear plastic trays, in 6 to 18 months’ time. Invisalign works by using a series of progressive trays that gradually shift teeth into the desired position with gentle pressure. About every two weeks, the patient changes to a new, custom-designed tray to continue the positive movement of the teeth.

The trays are worn for about 22 hours a day and may be removed for proper oral hygiene and during meals. This eliminates the risk of plaque buildup and permits the patient to eat comfortably and without any food restrictions. The smooth trays are comfortable to wear and do not impair speech or cause the irritation that is sometimes associated with wire braces.

Invisalign Clear Alignment Trays Can Correct Many Dental Issues, Including:

  • Crooked or twisted teeth
  • Overcrowding
  • Protruding teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Malocclusion
  • Bite abnormalities:
    • Cross bite – when teeth bite inside the upper or lower teeth
    • Open bite – when teeth do not fit together
    • Under bite – lower teeth bite in front of upper teeth
    • Over bite – upper teeth protrude beyond lower teeth
